Andhra Pradesh Philatelic Exhibition to be held in Visakhapatnam

A philatelic exhibition is organized by the Andhra Pradesh Postal Circle and will be held in Visakhapatnam from 23-25 ​​November. The main objective of the exhibition is to promote the hobby of stamp collecting and to provide an opportunity for prominent philatelists as well as budding philatelists. and students from Andhra Pradesh to exhibit their stamp collections.

“The number of philatelists has increased in Andhra Pradesh and the hobby of philately is soaring despite the electronic revolution. It goes without saying that any stamp is more than just a postage stamp; it represents the culture, heritage, history, flora and fauna of a country. The exhibition is a great opportunity for budding philatelists from Andhra Pradesh, as well as the country, to show off their talent; it is also an opportunity for the public to gain knowledge of our rich heritage through philately,” said Abhinav Walia, Chief Postmaster, Andhra Pradesh Circle.

A special souvenir containing the layout of exhibits, various exhibit committees, interesting items on philately will also be released to mark the occasion. Special covers as well as special cancellations will be released on different themes every day. These special envelopes will be on sale at the post office at the exhibition site. After the exhibition, the special covers will also be sold at all AP Circle philatelic offices.

The exhibit will also feature a segment for students to showcase their exhibits in the “youth class competition” category. The event will also include essay writing, stamp design, letter writing contests and quizzes.

The exhibition will be held at Parvathi Kalyanamandapam (Subbalakshmi Kalyana Mandapam), Subbalakshmi Nagar, Railway New Colony.
