AllenstownGirl Scout robot building party

Girl Scouts follow their own beliefs, lead their own stories, and explore all the amazing things they are capable of. Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains invites you to an exciting robot building party, a free and fun way for girls and their families to get to know Girl Scouts. Bring a friend or make a new one! A robot building party is planned for girls in Kindergarten to Grade 3 in Allenstown and surrounding areas on December 16, 6 to 7 p.m., at Allenstown Elementary School, 30 Main St., Allenstown. Older girls are also welcome to learn more about Girl Scouts. Parents and guardians are invited to participate! RSVP at 888-474-9686 or [email protected] Walk-ins are also welcome. With outdoor programs; entrepreneurship; science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM); and life skills, girls have the space and support they need to grow up so they can see themselves as we’ve always seen them.

Sunapee Lake AreaTeen writing contest

The Center for the Arts-Lake Sunapee Region is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Teen Writers’ Contest! Contest winners in each genre will receive local business prizes, a Teen Writers Journal post and a spot in the next session of the Teen Writers Workshop! Entries will be judged by local author and Professor Colby Sawyer, Megan Baxter. Megan will lead the workshop following the competition. The deadline for submission is January 15th. Open to all writers aged 12 to 18 living in Andover, Bradford, Danbury, Grantham, New London, Newbury, Newport, Springfield, Sunapee, Sutton, Warner or Wilmot. Accept submissions in short fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction. Writers are invited to submit to several genres. For all submissions, include your article title, name, address and email address, and the name of the teacher you wish to recognize. please see gender specific requirements below. Please include the title, your name and the genre of the submission on the first page. Send all submissions to [email protected] as PDF and Word attachments.
