BBC comedy Ghosts returns for fourth series

Critically acclaimed and much-loved BBC sitcom Ghosts is set to make a fiery comeback with a fourth series.

Back in their favorite haunt, Button House, filming on the BAFTA-nominated show is set to begin in the New Year.

Alison (Charlotte Ritchie) and Mike (Kiell Smith-Bynoe) will open The Gatehouse, but can they pull off the humble B&B or will the troublesome ghosts fail their plans again?

The series comes from the creators and stars of Yonderland and Bill, and the original stars of Horrible Histories, and they all seem to be having a good time if this silliness, shared by bbc comedy, is something to go through.

Ghosts stars writers and creators Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard, and Ben Willbond. The cast also includes Lolly Adefope and Katy Wix.

The creators say, “We are delighted to return to Button House for a fourth series. We’re already working on some new stories and can’t wait to share the next chapter.

The third series of the BAFTA-nominated series launched in the summer of 2021 with 4.3 million viewers watching the first episode – the biggest audience for the regular series to date – and the biggest audience for a comedy among 4-15 year olds in 2021 to date.

Where is BBC Ghosts filmed?

Button House is actually West Horsley Place, located east of Guildford in Surrey.

In circumstances similar to those of the show, the Grade I listed building was, in 2014, unexpectedly inherited by Bamber Gascoigne, the former host of the University Challenge, from his great-aunt, the Duchess of Roxburghe.

Other scenes were also shot in Guilford including London Road and Clandon Road, as well as exterior shots of the famous Bettys Tea Rooms in Harrogate.
