Camilla’s Country Life and 75th Stage

0

On July 17, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, celebrates her 75th birthday. Meanwhile, Country Life magazine celebrates its 125th anniversary.

So what better way to celebrate both milestones than by asking the Duchess to act as guest editor for a special edition and having the cameras follow how she’s doing?

Well, perhaps there would have been a time when the Duchess could have been forgiven for wanting to avoid the press altogether, even a magazine that shared her passion for the campaign. Many people in Britain first discovered Camilla Parker Bowles in the early 1990s, when her relationship with Prince Charles hit the headlines – and it’s safe to say the coverage generally wasn’t. favorable.

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall

Since their marriage in 2005, the public has begun to see her in a new light. Yet many of us still don’t know much about the Duchess of Cornwall beyond what we may have learned in the tabloids or watching Netflix’s hit drama The Crown.

This documentary should correct that and give us a chance to get to know the real woman. According to Jo Clinton-Davis, ITV Controller of Factual: “This film offers a unique opportunity to get a glimpse of the Duchess of Cornwall, up close, immersed in her personal passions and engaged with some of her loved ones.”

As she is invited to mount Country Life, it is perhaps unsurprising that the documentary finds Her Royal Highness talking about her love of the British countryside and reflecting on some of the people and places that shaped her. To put together the edition, she enlisted guest writers to help her cover the topics close to her heart. Thus, they will meet the people who run the charities and defend the causes that are close to his heart.

There should be plenty of choice. Her Royal Highness sponsors many charities and has helped bring attention to a wide variety of issues, from supporting the elderly and victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse to promoting literacy and arts.

It will also help shine the spotlight on some campaign champions. Of course, it’s not just been a big year for the Duchess of Cornwall and Country Life – it’s also been a big year for the Royal Family as a whole.

In June, the nation came together to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, but as we celebrated her reign, thoughts also turned to the future of the monarchy.

The Duchess of Cornwall is expected to play an important role in that future. In a message marking the 70th anniversary of her reign, the Queen said it was her “sincere wish” that Camilla be known as Queen Consort when Prince Charles becomes King. As a result, she has many royal duties – and as this documentary reveals, they don’t stop, even when she has a magazine to edit.

So, expect celebrity cameos and insight into her daily life, as well as her experiences of being on the other side of media coverage.
