As the Christmas season shifts into high gear, Christmas carols and hymns fill the air. We are reminded that cheerful sounds are appreciated by God. Christmas tunes – new and old – bring us together to celebrate the season and the salvation that came through the birth of Jesus Christ.

We interviewed the editors and editors of the North State Journal to share a collective reading list of Christmas classics and personal favorites from our staff to your family. You’ll see North Carolina born as James Taylor and Far Too Jones (find this reference to the Crabtree Valley Mall in “Christmas Time”) and native sons Charlie Daniels and Ronnie Milsap. We hope this list allows you to explore some arrangements you haven’t heard and maybe discover a new vacation favorite.

Psalm 100: 1-2

Make a happy noise at the Lord, you all land. 2Serve the Lord with joy: come before his presence singing.
