While it is Architects, The devil wears Prada and The ghost inside have all previously been inducted as honorary Australian headliners due to relentless touring schedules seeing them frequently share the stage with beloved Australian artists, while she sleeps simmer and steadily increase their fan base with each visit.
Over the years Australian crowds have had the chance to catch the UK metalcore outfit through support slots for the likes of Bring me the horizon, When hearts wake up and Architects. Now 2022 sees while she sleeps are heading down for their first ever Australian headlining tour and the excitement couldn’t be greater.
“We love it in Australia,” says the band’s lead singer, Loz Taylor, “we’re excited to be out there soon tearing up the stages with you.”
Considering the band’s fourth album So what? (2019) saw them tear up the stage alongside Architects on their Good heaven tour, in addition to winning crowd favorite at the prestigious UNIFY Gathering, the release of stunning new single, Eye to eye sent Aussie punters into a frenzy, with plenty of excitement to nab the single live.
As Eye to eye was included on the reissue of the band’s beloved fifth album sleep societythis is not necessarily an indication of future releases, but Taylor has confirmed,
“The cogs are still turning man, we are still working. I don’t know the exact deadlines, but we have other things in the works, we will continue to produce them.
We can’t wait to get out there to see you guys and wreak havoc on the stages.

“Although, I think right now we’re just enjoying the freedom to write a single, you know, just writing a few songs, rather than focusing on a full album. The ideas were kind of already there. kinda for both songs, but they weren’t developed projects if you will, and for some reason they just didn’t make the album.
“It was really fun to jump in and do two tracks and then yeah, we re-released the record with a brand new colorway and kind of refreshed the whole thing.”
With sleep society Seeing its release in early 2021, Covid complications and tour rescheduling have meant the bands have yet to get a chance to shoot the latest album in Australia. Although, according to Taylor, it makes the upcoming tour all the more special for the Aussie. sleep society(a community of dedicated While She Sleeps fans).
“The Sleeps Society” is really special,” says Taylor.
“We’ve always loved the community side of punk rock and metal and you know, anyone who’s really into it knows what that sense of community is like. That’s why I’m a mosher, that’s why I grew up in the things I love and the music we make. So to have that sense of community for everyone who loves the band as much as we do is an amazing thing for us, we really appreciate the support.
“The whole trip has been crazy, but everything seems positive in the camp at the moment. It’s cool. We can’t wait to be there to see you and create chaos on the stages.
